A group of Holland & Knight attorneys will host a Ship Finance Academy during the 2026 Marine Money Week. This half-day program, taking place in the firm's New York office, targets business professionals new to the world of ship finance and provides comprehensive overviews of key aspects of the sector. Presentations will address basic questions about shipping operations and shipping law, the unique financial characteristics of vessels and commercial lending, legal requirements for documenting a ship finance transaction, the Jones Act and role of regulatory agencies such as the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC), and default and bankruptcy processes, among other topics.
