Holland & Knight attorneys contributed two chapters to Global Legal Insights' Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Laws and Regulations 2027 book, which examines the legal and regulatory issues shaping blockchain technology and digital assets around the world.

Intellectual Property (IP) attorneys Ieuan Mahony, Brian Colandreo and Jacob Schneider co-authored the "Blockchain and Intellectual Property: A Case Study" chapter to help practitioners identify IP issues that may affect blockchain development and adoption. Using a hypothetical financial services platform, the authors examine patent protection and litigation exposure, open-source software licensing, industry standards and strategies for developing a diversified IP portfolio.

Technology and innovation attorneys Josias Dewey and Samir Patel co-authored the USA chapter, which provides a comprehensive overview of the United States' evolving regulatory landscape for digital assets. Josias and Samir cover federal government policy and legislative developments, securities and commodities oversight, money transmission and anti-money laundering requirements, taxation, mining, reporting obligations and estate planning.

Josias also served as the book's contributing editor and authored its preface, highlighting global regulatory developments, shifting U.S. oversight and the growing focus on decentralized finance and tokenization.
