Calling for Good Sense in Dialogue Between Mining Company and the Government

Energy attorney José Vicente Zapata, along with Juan Carlos Araúz, president of the National Bar Association (CNA) of Panama, were quoted in an article published by Metro Libre. In this, both encourage dialogue between the Panamanian government and the Panama mining company to reach an agreement that satisfies both parties in a balanced way regarding the Panama Copper Case.

"What must be done is, let's take the principles that govern fair and equitable treatment, the favored nation, the way in which contracts must be negotiated internationally against some historical consolidated rights to try to find an effective solution. It is a clear opportunity to reach a solution between the parties that is effective," Mr. Zapata said.
