Know How the Law Protects You When You Buy Online and Require a Refund

Consumer protection attorney Danilo Romero was mentioned in an article published by Asuntos Legales about consumers' rights regarding to online purchases and the situations in which they can request a refund. Mr. Romero highlighted that, according to the Colombian Consumer Statute, consumers can terminate the purchase agreement and obtain a refund of their money in certain specific cases.

"The Consumer Statute (Law 1480 of 2011) states that consumers have the right to a refund when they have acquired a good through electronic means and it is not available, or when its delivery takes longer than 30 days. In both cases, the purchase agreement is terminated, and the consumer may obtain a refund of the amount paid," he said.
