Overview
Julian Bibb is an intellectual property (IP) and technology transactions attorney in Holland & Knight's Nashville office. Mr. Bibb brings extensive experience in advising clients on complex technology transactions, from structuring and negotiating enterprise-wide implementations to developing comprehensive licensing frameworks for platform providers. He helps companies integrate sophisticated technology solutions into their existing infrastructure while ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk management strategies.
Mr. Bibb drafts and negotiates a wide range of technology and commercial matters – including software license, master service and technology development agreements – as well as enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations and cloud computing transactions such as software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and infrastructure as a service (IaaS) arrangements. He also counsels clients on trademark and copyright protection, enforcement strategies and IP portfolio development.
Drawing from his background as a former digital marketing company owner, Mr. Bibb offers practical guidance on launching new technological products and digital initiatives. He helps clients navigate the evolving privacy landscape across jurisdictions, providing guidance on regulatory compliance under complex data privacy laws that cover the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)/Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, Children's Online Privacy Protection (COPPA) Rules and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA).
From emerging startups to publicly traded enterprises, Mr. Bibb represents companies across diverse industries, notably financial services, healthcare, hospitality, retail and technology. He has experience conducting IP and technology due diligence in connection with merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions and providing strategic counsel on open-source usage and compliance. In addition, Mr. Bibb regularly advises clients on leveraging emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions, to drive innovation while managing associated legal and business risks.
