Gina Fonte is a senior counsel in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group in Holland & Knight's Boston office and concentrates her practice in the areas of construction, real estate, energy, insurance and commercial litigation. She regularly advises clients within these industries, including general contractors (regionally and nationally based); engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors; developers; universities; owners; sureties; specialty subcontractors; and engineers. Ms. Fonte also focuses on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) law, compliance and investigations.
Ms. Fonte's general corporate and transactional practice includes drafting and negotiating commercial construction contracts, letters of credit, promissory notes, leases, indemnity agreements, owner-representative consulting agreements, project closeout resolutions, multiparty escrow agreements, nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements, material purchase orders, and complex litigation settlements.
Ms. Fonte is co-chair of the OSHA, Workplace Safety and Whistleblower Claims Team at Holland & Knight. In addition, she is OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour certified and has lectured as a program instructor at the OSHA 30-Hour Safety Course for the Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts. As part of her OSHA law compliance and safety counseling practice, Ms. Fonte has counseled construction, manufacturing, university and subcontractor clients through OSHA investigations and in legal proceedings involving workplace accidents, serious injury and death.
Ms. Fonte is admitted in New Hampshire and frequently advises clients in assessing, preparing and defending claims; negotiating and litigating construction-related disputes; and providing general legal advice to construction industry clients under New Hampshire law.
She has also lectured on various topics in the construction industry, including risk management and best practices.
