Melissa A. Wong is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Boston office and is a member of the firm's national Healthcare & Life Sciences Team. Ms. Wong provides advice on a variety of healthcare regulatory and transactional matters, and represents a diverse group of healthcare clients, including pharmacies (retail, specialty, long-term care and mail order), pharmacy benefit managers, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturers, managed care organizations, third-party administrators and utilization review entities.
Ms. Wong has significant experience in Medicare Advantage, Part D and other federal healthcare program matters, and has advised clients on sophisticated regulatory issues, mergers and acquisitions, compliance program development, compliance audits and internal investigations, enforcement actions and corrective action plans, interactions with CMS and other regulatory agencies, and licensing matters. She has also assisted with numerous Federal Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act investigations and cases.
Ms. Wong is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics related to health care trends and regulatory developments, including drug reimbursement issues and utilization review requirements in managed care, as well as current challenges related to legal diversity and inclusion.
Prior to law school, Ms. Wong was a senior manager of Strategy and Business Development with American Express. She developed and drove new sales and account expansion opportunities for the top global clients in the corporate portfolio. Ms. Wong also has extensive experience in marketing and risk management consulting.
Ms. Wong serves as chair of the Board of Directors of Massachusetts Asian and Pacific Islanders (MAP) for Health, a nonprofit organization promoting health access and outreach to Asian-American communities in Massachusetts. She is also a member of the Hiring Committee for Holland & Knight’s Boston office.
