Please join Holland & Knight for a timely webinar on the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act (GENIUS Act) and the implications and opportunities for foreign payment stablecoin issuers, as well as foreign entities that provide products or services related to stablecoins.

Signed into law on July 18, 2025, the GENIUS Act aims to create a comprehensive regulatory framework for stablecoins, a type of cryptocurrency typically backed by assets such as a national currency or commodity.

Our presentation will focus on the legislation's implications for businesses in Latin America and how the GENIUS Act provides a potential path for payment stablecoin issuers that are supervised by a regulator of a foreign country to issue payment stablecoins in the U.S.

This webinar features a panel of industry guests and Holland & Knight attorneys with experience in digital payments, financial services, money transmission and anti-money laundering. Portions of this webinar will be available in both English and Spanish.

Topics Include:

  • what the GENIUS Act potentially means for foreign businesses considering entering the U.S. stablecoin market
  • regulatory obligations that foreign businesses entering the U.S. stablecoin market will need to consider, including economic sanctions, customer identification and anti-money laundering compliance
  • how the GENIUS Act differs from existing Latin American crypto regulatory regimes
  • potential impact of the GENIUS Act in Latin America, including the use of U.S. dollar-based stablecoins, whether it will expand or limit the market, as well as how it might affect licensure
  • if the GENIUS Act will spur foreign jurisdictions to create or adjust their own regulatory regimes using the GENIUS Act as a template

We hope you can join us for this informational presentation filled with insight into navigating the evolving global landscape for stablecoins.
