Bill Will Require Managed Care Plans to Contract With Eligible Pharmacies
A bill requiring managed care plans to contract with eligible pharmacies has been filed with the Florida Legislature for the 2017 session as House Bill 625. The bill prohibits managed care plans from excluding from the plan’s network any pharmacy that meets the credentialing requirements, complies with the standards established by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, and agrees to the terms of the plan.
Presently, managed care plans are not required to contract with a specific provider, unless otherwise required by law. The bill has been referred to the House Innovation Subcommittee for consideration.
