Private Equity Partner David Powers Joins Holland & Knight in Boston

BOSTON (April 9, 2026) – Holland & Knight has bolstered its market-leading Corporate, M&A and Securities Section with the addition of David Powers as a partner in Boston. Mr. Powers was previously a partner with Goodwin Procter.

"Dave brings the experience, market presence and leadership mindset necessary to help establish depth and momentum in the Boston corporate and private equity market, which is a key strategic focus for the Firm," said Brian Leary, practice group leader for the Boston Region of the Corporate, M&A and Securities Section. Mr. Powers focuses his practice on private equity and growth equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and leveraged buyouts. He has extensive experience representing private equity and growth equity funds in connection with platform and add-on acquisitions and primary and secondary investments, including private tender offers. He also has extensive experience representing portfolio companies on a wide variety of matters, including M&A and corporate finance transactions, as well as advising those companies on corporate governance and securities laws matters. Mr. Powers regularly advises a range of companies in industries, including software and information technology, business and information services, healthcare, education and consumer products.

Mr. Powers is a frequent speaker on corporate finance and private equity matters for various events and organizations, including Harvard Business School's Venture Capital and Private Equity Conference and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). He recently served as a member of the board of directors of ACG's Boston Chapter. Mr. Powers has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America guide for his work in Corporate Law for consecutive years and by The Boston Globe through inclusion on the publication's "Best Lawyers in New England" list.

Mr. Powers received a J.D. degree from The George Washington University Law School and a B.A. degree from The University of Vermont.
