Preparing for Antitrust Scrutiny of Healthcare Transactions in 2025
Advising Providers: Legal Strategies for AMCs, Physicians and Hospitals, American Health Law Association
Austin, TX 78704
Healthcare Transactions attorney John Saran will participate in the American Health Law Association's (AHLA) Advising Providers: Legal Strategies for AMCs, Physicians and Hospitals conference in Austin, Texas. The three-day event offers in-depth presentations on legal, regulatory, compliance and business issues facing these segments of the healthcare industry, with insights tailored for each of the academic medical center (AMC), physician practice management and hospital system spaces. Mr. Saran will speak on the first day of the event, and his session will be repeated on the last day of the conference. He will address heightened scrutiny of healthcare deals. From the enactment of state laws concerning pre-closing review of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to increased federal antitrust enforcement efforts, 2024 saw a number of developments that counsel should consider moving into 2025. Panelists will review these developments, explain reporting requirements for parties involved in healthcare M&A deals, as well as discuss how to avoid too much attention from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
