Holland & Knight Advises BurgerFi on $156.6 Million Acquisition of Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza & Wings

MIAMI (November 12, 2021) – Holland & Knight advised BurgerFi International Inc. (Nasdaq: BFI, BFIIW), the owner of one of the nation's fastest-growing premium fast-casual restaurant chains, on its $156.6 million acquisition of Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza & Wings from private equity firm L Catterton.

The Palm Beach, Fla.-based BurgerFi International, Inc. operates 116 BurgerFi restaurants domestically and internationally as of September 30, 2021 through a combination of corporate owned locations and franchises. Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is a leading operator of casual dining pizza restaurants with a very loyal fan base and, like BurgerFi, a high concentration of restaurants in the state of Florida. As a result of the acquisition, BurgerFi International, Inc. has 177 systemwide locations mostly across the Eastern seaboard as of September 30, 2021.
