Doing Business with the U.S. in the Trump Administration: What Korean Companies Need to Know

Holland & Knight Webinar

Attorneys Jeremy Burkhart, David Cole, Harold Lee and Sara Peters led a webinar designed to provide Korean businesses with insight on how to compete for U.S. government contracts, how to safeguard valuable intellectual property (IP) and how to engage with the U.S. government in the Trump Administration. With new priorities and increased focus on defense, technology and artificial intelligence (AI), opportunities abound for Korean companies looking to provide goods and services to the United States. During this presentation, speakers talked about preliminary steps to take when pursuing these opportunities, such as obtaining a security clearance and reviewing cybersecurity protocols; ways to structure U.S.-Korean technology license agreements and other types of cross-border IP arrangements; key considerations for joint development/collaboration agreements and commercialization strategies; and the importance of working with a lobbyist to overcome legal and political hurdles.
