Holland & Knight Represents MarineMax in Acquisition of SkipperBud's and Silver Seas Yachts

TAMPA, Fla. (October 5, 2020) – Holland & Knight represented MarineMax, Inc. (NYSE: HZO), the nation's largest recreational boat and yacht retailer, on its acquisition of SkipperBud's and its affiliate, Silver Seas Yachts. The acquisition, which was announced on Oct. 1, significantly grows MarineMax's presence in the Great Lakes region and the West Coast of the United States.

With the acquisition, MarineMax adds 20 locations in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, California, Washington and Florida, as well as 11 marina and storage facilities. Fiscal 2019 revenue for SkipperBud's was $220 million, making this the largest acquisition for MarineMax to date.

Headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, MarineMax currently has 77 retail locations throughout the U.S. MarineMax also owns Fraser Yachts Group and Northrop & Johnson, leading superyacht brokerage and luxury yacht services companies with operations in multiple countries.
